A Voice for Children

Vienna City Hall

The Concert

The Concert for Children's Rights is a special benefit concert for children‘s rights nonprofits, dedicated to the protection and promotion of children's rights throughout the world. It is also unique in that four regional and international children's rights organizations are joining forces to make it a success.

Pianist Albert Frantz, together with the Vienna Boys' Choir and their counterpart, the Vienna Girls' Choir, have set themselves the goal of drawing attention to the impressive work of the organizations that are committed to a better future for children through their dedicated work.

Our Motivation

The global extent of violence is alarming: according to estimates, around one billion children and young people worldwide are affected by physical, sexual or psychological violence. Three out of four children between the ages of two and four experience violence from caregivers.

When we think of violence against children and young people, we usually think of physical assault. However, violence against children has many faces.

In addition to physical abuse, there are also other forms of violence, such as neglect, sexual assault, financial exploitation or psychological violence. Children often experience several forms of violence at the same time.

Experiences of violence of any kind have an enormous impact on children's health and development.

Violence is an often invisible problem:

  • Because it takes place behind closed doors.
  • Because people turn a blind eye to it.
  • Because people don’t report it out of fear or shame.
